Liangzhu Culture, circa 3300-2250 B.C.
each of narrow block shape with a stepped-down short tang at one end and wedge shape cutting edge at the opposite end, the gray stone very smoothly polished all over.

Compare the similarly formed and polished stone axes excavated at Fuquanshan, Jiangsu province, illustrated by Huang, Gems of Liangzhu Culture, Hong Kong, 1992, p. 70, no. 12, and another very similar example discovered at Wuxian, Jiangsu, illustrated by Watson in the catalogue of the travelling exhibition, The Genius of China, London, 1973, p. 55, no. 44.
