with plain flat sides and squared rims, the green stone mottled in white, the softly polished surface with encrusted earth from burial.

A similar jade ring unearthed from a Neolithic site at Lushanmao, Shaanxi province, is illustrated in Yu hun guo hun: yuqi, yu wenhua, Xia dai Zhongguo wenming zhan (Soul of Jade, Soul of the Nation: Exhibition of Jade, Jade Culture, and the Xia Dynasty Civilization in China), Hangzhou, 2013, p. 109, described as Taosi culture.
