Liangzhu Culture, circa 3300-2250 B.C.
the slender rod of oval cross section with a deep groove down one side, a conical point at one end and a pierced tab at the opposite end, the smoothly polished onion green stone with cloudy mottling.
Length 3 inches (7.6 cm)
Compare the similar awl-shaped pendants excavated at Fuquanshan, Qingpu county, Jiangsu province strung on a necklace with beads of various shapes and sizes, illustrated by Huang, Gems of Liangzhu Culture, Hong Kong, 1992, p. 209, no. 81.
